The Google Pixel 6 Pro may have been leaked in a brief hands-on video

Google Pixel 6 Pro leaks show a pre-production version in black and grey with its triple-back camera arrangement.

Main Highlights

Google got ahead of any potential Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro leaks by unveiling the phones in August, including the fact that they will operate on the company’s long-in-development Tensor processor. However, it is conceivable that some leakers have just obtained a real unit. A video uploaded to Twitter by @thisistechtoday appears to show a pre-production version of the Pixel 6 Pro with its triple-back camera arrangement.

Of course, Google hasn’t been shy about revealing the device’s design, even placing fake devices in its NYC shop for customers to inspect. To that point, the gadget in this brief video seems similar to what we’ve seen thus far, despite the odd Google logo placeholder. The phone in this video looks to feature a hole-punch selfie camera, and all of its controls are positioned along the phone’s right side.

Features of Google Pixel 6

The phone in this video looks to feature a metallic and glossy rail encircling its elevated camera bar, similar to the Pixel 6 Pro mockups that Google published, as opposed to the Pixel 6’s darker, matte-textured rail. To be sure, it’s difficult to discern in this clip.

So, while it’s not as if the phone hasn’t been seen before, what’s interesting in this video is that the display is turned on, which is an aspect of the Pixel 6 or 6 Pro that we haven’t seen much outside of this new commercial. However, it is a fairly dull peek, displaying the identical screen as seen throughout the Android 12 setup procedure. The Pixel 6 Pro will have a 6.7-inch QHD+ screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

It’s unclear when Google intends to officially reveal the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, or when it will reveal pricing and release date. But, if recent years are any indicator, it should be short, maybe in October.

The backstory of Pixel Leaks

The backstory behind this leak is particularly intriguing since this Pixel 6 Pro looks to have been spotted in a computer store in Nigeria, continuing the trend of unreleased Google phones turning up in odd shops throughout the world. At this moment, the original source of the photos and video is unknown, since one person claiming to be the original source may just be a friend of the source. In any event, if this Pixel 6 Pro prototype is out in the world, we should anticipate more information to emerge in the coming days.

The strange branding on the rear is a dead giveaway that this is an early prototype – that’s how Google rolls when it comes to obscuring the fact that the gadget in question is a Google phone. The distinct camera island, on the other hand, is obvious.

The eight-second video is only a simple 360-degree tour of the smartphone, but nearly everything else about the Pixel 6 Pro (and Pixel 6 in general) has already been leaked or verified by Google. The Google Pixel 6 Pro is powered by Google’s own Tensor SoC, which has Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities as well as substantial improvements in translation, captioning, and dictation. According to reports, the chipset is an unannounced Samsung Exynos 9855 SoC.

Wi-Fi 6E, mmWave 5G, and Ultra-wideband (UWB) technologies are available for connectivity. The phone will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery, and it has now been revealed that it will enable 33W fast charging. In terms of software, it will come pre-installed with the newest Android 12 operating system.

While pricing information is not yet available, the gadgets are likely to be expensive. According to rumors, the Pixel 6 series will be released on October 19th, with the first sales perhaps taking place on October 28th.
