Twitter adds search DM feature in Android versions

Twitter

Introduction:

How convenient is it to be able to search for a conversation on Twitter? It is difficult to scroll through the tweets endlessly to find something. This could be a reality for Twitter DM in the future.

The company has finally brought the DM search bar to Twitter’s Android version today. It appeared on iOS two years ago and launched the same Android version today. It will drastically expand how the bar can prove to be helpful.

It will surface old conversations and even actual words you typed in the conversations sometime later this year. (Right now it is possible to only search for the names of the people).

Honestly, it is rare to bother searching for something on Twitter using a mobile phone. Moreover, Twitter mobile search does not give you the power of the advanced search available on the desktop.

Statement from TwitterSupport handle on Twitter:

TwitterSupport shared the following tweet to mark the launch of this update:

We’ve brought the DM search bar to Android and are rolling out an improved version that lets you search for all of your convos, not just the most recent ones.

Waiting for the option to search your DMs for message content? We’re working on releasing that later this year!
