- EA pushes FIFA 21, on Stadia to next year

Stadia by Google is a cloud gaming service. This service currently supports Chrome Web and Android platforms. However soon it is to add support for iOS 14 as well. Stadia was launched a year ago on November 19. The service is integrated with YouTube.
Its state share feature will allow viewers of a Stadia stream to launch a game on the service. This platform offers 4K streaming resolution at 60 frames per second. Stadia’s library has been growing rapidly at present. This month the first EA title is set to hit the platform in the form of Star Wars.
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. FIFA and Madden NFL were scheduled to be available by this winter with more games to follow. But now, EA has delayed FIFA 21 on Stadia until next year. This was brought to light in a press release on Q2 earning.
Revealing about FIFA 21 getting delayed
It was during this press conference when EA revealed that FIFA21 is coming to Stadia next year. The mention was first spotted by Cloudy with a Chance of Games. Previously the company mentioned that Madden FIFA would be coming during winters.
Taking in reality, it’s entirely possible that a 2021 launch was always the plan for EA. However, this wasn’t the implication during the initial announcement. Google quotes; EA sports will be on a significant expansion. It will span new games, more geographies, and more ways to engage.
FIFA is growing- in addition to FIFA 21 on next-gen this year and Sadia in the new year. The success of our FIFa Online 4 free-to-play game in Asia leads us to expand that game to new markets. It will include the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
At present, it is good to hear that, EA still has plans for other games heading to Stadia. The company has not given any specific detail. It quotes; we will continue to reach more players across more platforms in Q3. We have more titles launching on Switch and Google Stadia this quarter.
It is known that Madden 21 is coming to Stadia. It is even teased in a recent commercial from Google itself. However, there is no formal announcement made by the company at this point. In addition to this EA previously confirmed that five games in total were in development for Stadia.
