Google has finally launched its apps for iOS in the Dark Mode. After Android users gained access to the dark mode in July 2020, it was time for iOS users to receive the same. Google has made Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets available in Dark Mode for Apple users. Should users update their apps and use the latest version, they can view these apps in Dark Mode.
Why is Dark Mode better?
Google launched the dark mode for users as the world shifted from going to the office and staying home for more work hours. The darker hues are known to grab attention and keep the viewer engaged. Hence, the dark mode was introduced. It also provides a long battery life and has resulted in less strain on the users’ eyes.

Battery Usage and Dark Mode
When the user battery is low (<20%), your phone automatically enters the dark mode. It acts as reminders that it’s time to charge your phones. Android users have been able to optimize their battery life and now iOS users can do that too.
Is the Dark Mode for Google apps mandatory?
The dark mode is set to get along with the iOS settings. But some users may prefer disabling it, which is why the theme can be changed manually, if and when required.

This new theme is accessible to all G Suite users (personal and enterprise Google accounts). This is only accessible if they have the latest versions of these apps (Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides).

Enabling the dark mode on your iOS
- Open an app of your choice (the latest version of Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides)
- Go to the Menu bar
- Tap on to ‘Settings’
- Click on ‘Themes’
- Select the preferred theme which is, the Dark Mode
This is the best way to keep yourself engaged with your screens for long hours with different colors, minimal brightness, and can keep your eyes unharmed.
