Right after the Apple event in October, Samsung mocked the company for not including the power adapter in the iPhone 12 box and also removing it from the older models.
Lately, as some rumors have predicted, the Galaxy S21’s documentation suggests that it will also not come with a charger included in the box.
The new Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra have just been approved by ANATEL in Brazil, which is the equivalent agency to the FCC in the United States. The new devices have the codenames SM-G991B/DS, SM-G996B/DS, and SM-G998B/DS, respectively.
While the documentation filed at ANATEL doesn’t reveal much detail about upcoming Galaxy smartphones, it does reveal a noteworthy change in the lineup of Samsung’s phones for the next year.
ANATEL says that all three new Galaxy S21 models will not have a charger included in the box. Headphones will not be included either.
Why did Samsung remove the power adapter?
Samsung’s Galaxy S21, coming in 2021, may not include a power adapter or headphones in the box.
With a major competitor no longer offering accessories like power adapters and EarPods, Samsung too may want to save some cash by selling accessories on the side rather than including them with smartphones.
Korean sources suggest that the power adapter and headphones could be removed across the entire S21 lineup, though there is a chance that Samsung will offer the power adapter while removing the headphones.
Samsung has in the past mocked Apple’s design and product decisions before doing the exact same thing.
Why did Samsung mock Apple?
Samsung, which is mocking Apple for removing power adapter from the box, is reportedly planning to do the same for some of its devices from next year.
Phone 12, 12 Mini, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max. With the launch of this new lineup, the company has also ditched the charger and Earpods from the box.
Now, Samsung, which is the world’s leading smartphone brand, has taken to social media channels to mock Apple over its move of removing power adapter from the retail box. Through posts on social media, the company points out that the Samsung Galaxy series smartphones continue to ship with a power adapter.
