Whatsapp is testing another round of new features in its latest beta build. The cross-platform messaging app is the most popular service around the world. Whatsapp updates
Whatsapp has also introduced a bunch of improved wallpapers and sticker search. A lot of these wallpapers have surfaced in the prior beta builds.
- Custom Chat Wallpaper Backgrounds: this feature makes the chats more distinguishable and it feels more personal for users. The custom wallpaper for important chats and favorite people will also ensure that users will never need to worry about sending a wrong message in the wrong chat. The beta also introduces automatic transition for the chat wallpaper.
Now, separate wallpapers can be chosen for light and dark mode. The background wallpapers will automatically change as the phone settings switch from light to dark mode. The messaging service is making the default doodle wallpaper available in more colors. Users now get the ability to either dim or brighten their wallpapers by managing their opacity whenever they want.
- Improved Sticker Search: This feature allows users to search and find stickers by typing or by emoji. The common sticker categories are anyways available to browse through. But, the improvement requires the sticker creators to make some tweaks and updates as well. The sticker app creators need to tag their stickers with emojis and texts to deliver a seamless experience.
- WHO’s ‘Together at Home’ sticker pack will be available for users. The sticker pack has been one of the most popular sticker packs across the Whatsapp platform. Now the new update makes it even more expressive and useful in its animated form.
- Audio Muting for Videos: the future Whatsapp build may feature the ability to mute any video within the chats. Currently, any video sent has an audio file attached automatically to it. This feature will come in handy when you want to just send a silent video. It will also allow for audio enabled videos with a small audio toggle in the editing panel.
- Read Later Archive: It will be a filter for specific chats that won’t appear within the main chat view.
These updates will begin rolling out to all Whatsapp users by the end of this week.
