Apple is gearing up for its second fall event of the year. The company sent out invitations with the tag line “Hi, Speed” on Tuesday for a virtual event on October 13. The event is to be beamed from the Steve Jobs Theater on Apple’s campus. The event starts at 10:30 pm IST.
Apple is expected to launch a new lineup of iPhones, a smaller HomePod smart speaker, over-ear headphones, an all-new Apple TV streaming box, and a rumoured Tile-like location tracking device.
The October 13 Apple event will most likely highlight the iPhone 12. Apple already confirmed that the next-generation iPhone would be a bit late. In an earnings call back in July, Luca Maestri, the company’s chief financial officer, said the iPhone supply to be available “a few weeks later.”
What design does the iPhone 12 have?
It is designed with a metal frame that’s similar to the iPhone 4. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the new iPhones will use a more complex segmentation design with new trenching and injection molding procedures.
The new iPhone will feature a stainless steel frame, which will replace the current rounded stainless steel frame, and it will continue to use front and back glass for the body of the device.
What new features does the iPhone 12 carry?
This 6.1-inch iPhone will feature the same hardware as the standard iPhone 11. It will carry a 14 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and dual rear cameras. The biggest difference will be the screen and battery size, both of which will see an increase. The iPhone 12 will have a larger 6.1-inch OLED panel with 2532×1170 resolution.
iPhone 12 Pro: The 6.1-inch flexible OLED on this model could be the first phone to feature 10-bit color support. It will feature a 2532×1170 resolution with Y-OCTA technology. There’s a chance this phone’s screen could support a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Apple Event will be about many things. However, majorly it will be presenting fans with first-hand information about its latest launches. Apple might announce two Apple watches, four iPhone models. Apple may also announce iPad Air headphones and the HomePod.
Apart from this, the tech giant might also reveal the first in-house designed CPU for Mac. Apple might also present its fans with iOS 14, macOS Big Sur, and iPadOS 14.
