Google announced Nest a line of Smart Speakers back in 2016 and launched a couple of Nest with a touchscreen. Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max were the first smart speaker from Google to feature an interactive touchscreen area. Nest Hub and Hub Max were launched back in May last year.
Why the Hub Max?
The Nest Hub Max features a large 10-inch touchscreen. It also has an integrated camera which can be used for facial recognition. Google Duo video calls and also as a security camera. Now, Google has opted to add another feature, namely Zoom support to the Nest Hub Max.
Users of the Nest Hub Max have exclusive access to Google’s popular teleconferencing platform Zoom and can attend or host a meeting right from their Security Device/Smart Speaker.
Availability
Users in Canada, Australia, United States, and the United Kingdom have confirmed the support of Zoom on their Nest Hub Max. The feature was much requested from users across the globe and is available only as an “early preview”. Users will have to opt-in and oblige to Google’s Terms and Conditions then will receive the firmware update.
The wide release of the software is yet unknown but Google has confirmed that the firmware is not just another Software Beta and will deliver the same experience as the Wide Release version.
To access the feature on Nest Hub Max, users must have a Google Zoom Account regardless of the paid Subscription. Users need to link their accounts to the device and add the invite to Google Calendar for all the participants before hosting the meeting.
The Zoom conferences will also take advantage of a new feature for Google and Nest Wi-Fi that optimizes and prioritizes teleconferences for Wireless Bandwidth for better Quality and Low Latency.
