- iOS14 can’t remember default email and browser choice despite support

iOS 14 is the fourteen and current major release of the iOS operating system. It is developed by Apple Inc. for its iPhone and iPod Touch lines. It is the successor to iOS 13. The announcement took place at the company’s Worldwide Developer Conference on 22nd June.
iOS 14 introduced the support for the VP codec. It allows support for playback of YouTube videos in 4K resolution. The first public beta was released on July 9, 2020. Officially the version 14 was released on September 16th, 2020. Further the version 14.0.1 was released on 24th September, 2020.
This release resolved the issue related to bug fixes. It included an issue that caused the default browser and mail settings to reset after restarting the device.
Current iOS releases
On October 20 version 14.1 and 14.2 (beta) was released. The two releases brought a tornado of features.
App Clips, CarPlay, Carkeys, Home Screen, Widgets everything is improved. It also includes Compact UI, Search and Siri, privacy enhancements, and MagSafe support. One of the most anticipated and awaited features of the iOS 14 has arrived a few days before.
Issue with iOS version 14
For the first time in its era, the company opened up the iPhone and iPad to allow third-party interference. The two of them now allow third parties to be set as the default Mail and browser. Even so at the launch, there was a bug.
The settings would reset to Apple’s Mail and Safari apps after rebooting. The company fixed the glitch a few weeks ago. The original glitch was fixed after power recycling the iPhone and iPad. Now another flaw has been found that brings the same result.
This was done a few weeks after the launch of iOS14. Version 14.0.1 was launched as a solution to this problem. Since then we have got iOS 14.1 this week. The new release is followed by widget bug fixes and support for iPhone 12. But for those using third-party apps another bug exists.
David Clarke demonstrated this problem on Twitter this morning. There he revealed that the custom Mail or browser chosen will revert back. The reversion will take place after updating the third-party app existing as a system’s default.
As soon as you update the app it will revert back to Apple’s Mail or Safari.
There are also a few bugs remaining in iOS14.1.
