Samsung discontinues an ad that mocked Apple for not including a charger in the iPhone box. Apple replaces the charging brick, along with changing the cord from USB-A brick to lightning-to-USB-C. Samsung had deleted an ad that made fun of Apple for removing the charging brick from its iPhone 12 box
The Facebook post has now been deleted.
The Facebook post made by Samsung Caribbean in October had an image of a charging brick with the caption “Included with your Galaxy”.
There are rumors that Samsung too will not include a charger with its upcoming phones starting with Galaxy S21 in 2021. Samsung phones will utilize the Type-C cables for charging, as restrained to Apple’s proprietary lightning connector. As to the rumors, this isn’t the first time Samsung has deleted ads mocking Apple.
Samsung Mocks Apple For Not Including Charger
Samsung is the world’s leading smartphone class. It recently took to social media to mock Apple over its move of removing power adapter from the retail box. Across several posts on social media, the company indicated that the Galaxy series smartphones will continue to ship with a power adapter.
It’s noteworthy that Apple not only removed the power adapter from the box of the newly launched iPhone 12 models but also for the older models. So, even if someone buys the iPhone 11 series, there won’t be a charger included.
This isn’t the first time Samsung has deleted ads after adopting the same practice it previously mocked Apple for.
When Galaxy Note 10 launched without a headphone jack, Samsung deleted ads making fun of the iPhone X for not having a similar plug (ads that were made even more awkward by the fact that the iPhone in the ad was just referred to as the “ten”).
Apple Removes Charger And Headphones
Apple removes the chargers and headphones from the box of all iPhones on sale. The phone maker took this step at the launch of its iPhone 12 series. This is due to part of its efforts to reduce impact and promote environmental stewardship.
Apple will not provide earpod headphones and a 5W wall charger with its new iPhones in an attempt to make its packaging more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
However, the company will include a USB-C to Lightning cable in the box, which can be plugged into an existing wall adapter or a computer for charging.
