- Samsung’s One UI 3.0 beta received its second update
- One UI 3.0 will bring Android 11 on Samsung devices
- It is expected to introduce new features and performance improvements
Samsung is moving at a fast pace in 2020. With the One UI 2.5 rolled out for its top models, it has rolled out the beta for its One UI 3.0. It is expected that the company will be releasing the latest One UI with Android 11. It will be the next major Android OS upgrade and is expected around the end of the year. This will be the second beta update of Samsung’s Android 11 skin. The new beta firmware has begun rollout in the US, Germany, and South Korea.
One UI 3.0 will bring some new features and improve the functionality of the features introduced in One UI 2.5. The current iteration of Samsung’s custom skin was released with the Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy Z Fold 2. However, One UI 3.0 will not be synced to a flagship release but serve as a separate update for Android 11 on the Samsung phones. The second beta update brings some bug fixes and feature updates. The new update is around 600MB in size and bears firmware version G98zU1UEU1ZTJG, as reported by SamMobile.
One UI 3.0 Design changes
In comparison to One UI 2.5, we expect to see significant differences in One UI 3.0. This can be said with certainty because the OneUI 2.5 update was based on the refinement of the Samsung software. But the 3.0 version might bring some big changes to One UI’s design.
Similar to the earlier update, One UI 3.0 will be updating most of Samsung’s native apps and adding new functionality. Since not much is known about the new features, it is expected that the news will come out soon. Along with numerous interface tweaks, Samsung adds some features directly from Android 11. For example, a dedicated section for chats on the notification page. Samsung’s web browser, contacts, home, and lock screen will also receive refinements.
Some of the notable tweaks in the update
- It fixed a bug that prevented booting the phone if its storage was full.
- Fix for a bug causing an unexpected reboot while receiving a call.
- Fixed several bugs present in DeX, such as the inability to change fonts.
The new One UI 3.0 has been confirmed on the Galaxy S20 lineup by Samsung. It will be the first to receive the Android 11 update among Samsung devices. Earlier this month, Samsung had released its first beta in South Korea on Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra.
