Trailforks Key features
-
Cover more terrain
It’s not much fun to be worried about getting lost when bicycling or trekking. It’s easy to get lost given the extent of the trail network, which is only 100 steps from your house.
You can cover a lot more terrain with a mountain bike, which means you can get lost much faster.
The Trailforks app keeps track of where you are in the trail network at all times. You not only avoid being lost, but you may also explore into unknown area with confidence.
-
Avoid getting lost
It’s one thing to get the ability to go further, but it’s quite another if an app may truly save your life by keeping you from being lost.
People have perished as a result of becoming lost on the North Shore mountains. It is most commonly caused by skiing out-of-bounds in the winter, although hikers and mountain bikers have also had major complications.
-
Emergency help
Trailforks features include a red emergency button: Click the red “Emergency Info” button to get to a page where you may phone 911 and/or share your precise location. This, too, can be life-saving.
The app has an Emergency Info tab that gives emergency responders your exact location. This helps save lives.
-
Bike at your level
The mountain bike path map in the app is coloured differently. Those colours represent a distinct degree of ability required. Green is the easiest and black is the most challenging. Blue is in the middle.
-
Map your rides and hikes
It can map and record your rides and hikes. This isn’t my thing. I don’t really care about it. I don’t have the time to review my adventures so I don’t bother but I know many folks like tracking their recreational and fitness pursuits.
-
Trail Alerts
You can check out trail alerts in the app to see if there are any problems/hazards with any trails you’re considering heading out on. This can save you from having to turn around or worse.
Of course, the detailed trail maps are awesome, but what I really love about this app is that you can actually see yourself move on a trail. This way you know where you are at all times in relation to the absolute maze of trails that we journey regularly.
-
Two Main Mountain Bike Pedal Options
It’s all well and good to have a map with you but if you don’t know where you are on the map, it’s not helpful. It solves that problem with GPS tech.
-
The blue dot is me in my current location in the Trailforks app
Trailforks is for more than just mountain biking, it is on a mission to provide trail information for many recreational pursuits including skiing, hiking, horseback riding, and more.
-
Trail maps wherever you are
If you’re traveling, you can use Trailforks to suggest local trails for all the activities listed. For this use the “Discover” feature. When you click on it, listings of local trails and routes are listed.
Trailforks App Reviews
Why should you install the Trailforks App?
With the Trailforks app, you can access hundreds of trail maps with the most up-to-date information.
If you come across anything that isn’t on the map, you have the option of recommending a modification, which may or may not be approved.
This mountain bike software helps navigate some of the more difficult terrains a little bit safer. It is free software that works on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
The Trailforks app has few rivals; there are a few other navigation applications that allow you to construct your own routes and preserve that information as you travel.
There just isn’t much out there in terms of apps with pre-existing datasets dedicated exclusively toward mountain bikers.
