Donald Trump, on Monday, released an executive order directing the creation of a National Garden of American Heroes. The garden will reflect the awesome splendor of the timeless exceptionalism of the country. The National Garden of American Icons will memorialize Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs. Job’s groundbreaking statue will join hundreds of others in the park once it is completed.
The order is a revision of an earlier order to set up a statuary park called the National Garden of American Heroes. It also states the formation of an ‘Inter-agency Task Force for Building and Rebuilding Monuments to American Heroes.’ The new order details more of the garden plans of President Donald Trump, and what to expect inside it.
About The National Garden of American Heroes
The National Garden will exhibit the splendor of the timeless exceptionalism of the U.S. And, it will be a place where citizens, young and old, can renew their vision of greatness. The garden was in response to nationwide demonstrations against police brutality and institutionalized racism. The event led to vandalism, demolition of monuments related to slavery, and other historical injustices. A list of statues in the park is provided in order. It includes personalities embodying the American spirit of daring, defiance, excellence, adventure, and courage. These exceptional individuals portrayed great confidence, loyalty, love, and indispensably contributed to the history of America.
Big names from the history of America, including presidents, inventors, and visionaries in their fields will be present in the garden. The list includes a wide variety of individuals and subjects. From singers such as Johnny Cash and Billie Holiday to political heavyweights such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Famous scientists such as the Wright Brothers and Albert Einstein will also be included.
Where is the garden going to be constructed?
The updated order does not specify where the garden will be built. But the Secretary of the Interior will choose and finance a site for the garden. The initial order had a deadline of 4 July 2026, marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Trump unveiled the garden at an event at Mount Rushmore in July 2020. Trump intended it to be a reaction to the demolition by activists. During protests, the public objected and caused the destruction of historical figures’, statues, and monuments.
