Blowhorn, a Bengaluru-based logistics firm, secured an undisclosed sum in its Series B3 investment round from Symphony International Holdings Limited, a new investor, and previous investors including Chiratae Ventures, Draper Associates, and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.
According to the official announcement, the funds will be used to assist Blowhorn’s network development ambitions, allowing the company to expand its geographical reach across India and service a larger client base.
“We are not only thrilled to be collaborating with the team behind Symphony International Holdings Limited, who have extensive expertise in the Asian logistics sector, but we are also delighted to have included a number of our previous investors in this round of investment. Our goal is to disrupt the last-mile logistics business in India by expanding up our network operations to the point where we can reach every pin-code in the country with the speed that every delivery deserves,” said Mithun Srivatsa, CEO of Blowhorn, in a statement.
Blowhorn, which was founded in 2014, is a supplier of same-day, intra-city, and last-mile logistics. It manages the end-to-end supply chain journey by providing transportation, warehousing, and a fully integrated technological solution. The business now claims to service 70 cities in India. It provides clients with intracity transportation for weights ranging from one gram to one tonne.
In addition, the business offers fulfillment services and comprehensive API-integrated delivery services. Previously, in May 2020, the firm received an unknown amount of venture loan investment from Trifecta Capital.
“The breakout nature of innovation in the Indian logistics sector is a very exciting place for us to be a part of right now. “We are thrilled to collaborate with the Blowhorn team as they continue to use their excellent technical skills to develop and service a broader network of customers,” said Anil Thadani, Chairman of Symphony International Holdings Limited, in a statement.
About Blowhorn
Blowhorn is an intra-city logistics company based in Bengaluru, India. It was established in 2014 and now has offices in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, and Mumbai. Through its website and smartphone app, the firm links clients with mini-truck drivers for intra-city, sub-two-ton deliveries. Blowhorn received Rs 25 crore in series A investment in March 2017 from IDG Ventures India and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.
Mithun Srivatsa and Nikhil Shivaprasad, who has worked in the logistics and technology area for over a decade, co-founded Blowhorn. They created Blowhorn in 2014 to address what they saw to be a severely unorganized industry in India: mini-truck drivers. The Indian mini-truck transportation business is projected to be between Rs 30,000 to 60,000 crore ($6.8 to 9.6 billion) each year. The firm has grown to 160 workers and 1.8 million mini-trucks in metropolitan areas.
